This is the story of Moone.

Moone is 14 years old and lives in Sighet, Romania.

This is Moone's family. His dad, mom, and sister Tizzy.

They practice Judaism, a form of Christianity.

One day while the family was doing their studies, there was a loud knock on the door...

OPEN UP NOW!!

Moone and his family did not know it, but it was the last time they would be at their house.

COME ON! OUT OF THE HOUSE!

When Moone and his family got outside, they saw all of their neighbors crying and standing in their yard.

Moone, his family, and neighbors were moved to a terrible place called Auschwitz with thousands of other Jews. Moone had to separate from his mom and Tizzy, he would never see them again.

Moone was sad. He missed his mom and Tizzy. He was thankful that he had his dad, though. Even though Moone was sad, he told himself to keep working so he could one day be free.

Moone's dad grew tired. He no longer felt the need to go on. Sadly, he died. Moone was very sad, but again, Moone chose to keep working. "I'll have time to grieve when I'm out of here!" thought Moone.
