One day in March, I went to a park and caught an American Toad. It was so little, I thought it looked about a week old. Then I took it home.

When I got home, I researched what to feed toads, and I found it was meal worms. Then, my mom went to the pet store and got meal worms.

Next, I found my old small glass fish tank, got some sand and dirt, then filled the tank. I put the very tiny toad in the tank.

Days later I figured out how to exercise the toad. I let her out of the tank, then made her jump. Be careful toads like to pee!

I exercise my toad by laying paper down and letting her jump around. Then, after a good workout, I give her a yummy treat. She stalks her pray then sticks out her sticky tongue to eat it.

Two months later, I researched if my toad was a boy or a girl. Then, found out she was a girl. My toad has the characteristics of a female toad. She has a fatter body than a boy, and she has thinner legs. Also, my toad does not make sounds like male toads do.
