Died: July 26, 1863 in Huntsville, Texas
An AMERICAN STATESMAN
Sam Houston was a statesman, a politician and a soldier. He was famous for bringing texas into the united states. He was a general in the army.
Houston moved to Tennessee from Virginia and spent a lot time with the Cherokee Nation. he was adopted as a citizen and was part of the military service in the War of 1812. He fought for independence.
Sam Houston fought in The War of 1812 & Creek War. He was also in the Battle of Horseshoe Bend 1814 & The Texas Revolution. This picture is of Battle of San Jacinto 1836.
Houston was involved in an altercation with a U.S. Congressman, followed by a high-profile trial. Soon after, he relocated to Coahuila y Tejas, then a Mexican state, and became a leader of the Texas Revolution. Sam Houston was the only person to have become the governor of two different U.S. states.
