King Minos was said to have owned the mythical beast known as the Minotaur. He supposedly had it locked up in a maze that no one could escape from.

The Phoenicians began to arise at the same time that the Minoans began to see their decline. The Phoenicians were excellent traders with vast trade routes and settlement areas.

The Phoenicians were also said to be excellent shipbuilders and seafarers. They had supposedly managed to sail around the continent of Africa, a feat that would not be accomplished for another 2,000 years.

Ancient trade managed to connect most of the world at the time. The trade routes that had been established brought along the trade of ideas and religious thought.

Ancient traders used the monsoon winds to help carry them across large expanses of water that would have otherwise been untraversable.
