I am proud of studying  at Antonio Nariño School” in Monteria Colombia. I was born on August 30th, 2004. So far, I have been an excellent student  and I have been highlighted for my learning skills.

In this book I want to share my successful learning experience during this year: The process of composting.

ORGANIC COMPOST

We started on July 27th, there was a talk among 8°A  and 8B° students with the help of the company “SERVIGENERALES’’, in which they explained that the organic fertilizer was made withs hells of vegetables and that its manufacture lasted a month.

This project is also done by layers also.

As soon as we started the process I used to write down everything that  was happening.

In the  day 17th, we combined the accumulation of food shell collected in the kitchen of the school with  LIME and ACERRIN as these materials are very important products for the manufacturing process.

This activity was meaningful to me because it motivated me to write in English because the topic was about something real in my life.

Additionally, the experience of preparing compost and use it in the creation of  a vegetable garden was a really great experience.

It helped me develop many skills that will be useful in my life.I learned how to work collaboratively to solve a problem related to recycling solid waste and the benefit of growing our own food using organic compost.

In the little vegetable we will plant vegetables such as: celery, coriander and radish, which are difficult to survive in hot weather, but we will set the conditions by creating an innovative irrigation system.

A practitioner Engineer from universidad de Cordoba will help us to create this system. The idea is to create an innovative and eco friendly electronic system that controls humidity automatically by sending information to a platform. It also has solar panels to save energy.

This small project helps us to make some small entrepreneurs from an early age because we can sell our compost product at a low cost ($1000) as the gentleman who is guiding us from servigenerales suggested us.
