Kings and rulers gathered to bring peace to Europe after a series of wars.

Those people split Italy apart into different states.

Some Italian States were put under the control of Austria, other under the control of Hapsburgs, and still others under the control of the French ruler

Many of the Italians did not like the split that separated them.

Nationalism (love to one's country) was growing and so it was against the split that the conference people made to Italy.

Giuseppe Mazzini was a writer who made a group called Young Italy to bring the Italian States together.

People who had extreme love to Italy in many states stood against their ruling government.

Camillo di Cavour was a leader who made a movement to put Italy together and getting free from ruling government.
