Bye Grace!

Where does she go everyday? I miss her.

I think she goes to school.

Why does she even need to go? She'd be WAY happier staying home and playing with us.

Well kids have to go to school. If they don't they won't be able to get a good job. Then they wouldn't have any money to spend.

I still don't understand why she can't stay home. She knows her A,B,C's what else could you possibly need?

Here I'll show you.

is for Attitude

By going to school everyday Grace learns how to listen to a teacher, and how to follow rules.

is for Behavior

Grace is learning how to act in front of people. What is okay to do and what is not okay to do out in public.

is for Class

Everyday Grace is taught by a teacher. Her class is the people that she learns with and who she is with everyday instead of us.

What if she stops hanging out with us and starts hanging out with them instead?

We'll be okay Loki.

is for Determination

Grace struggles with a lot of different things in school. She has to push through and get the work done. It teaches her to never give up.

is for Extracurricular

That big word is talking about the things Grace does outside of school. Like soccer on Tuesday nights, and choir on Friday. Those are all examples of extracurricalur's. Grace is learning how to handle being busy.

WOW, that's a big word.

is for Future

Grace will need to get a job when she grows up. Grace needs to go to school to learn materials for college. She is improving her future by going to school.

is for Graduate

Grace is planning to graduate high school. If she didn't go to school enough she won't graduate. You need to graduate high school to get into a good college. A good college can mean a good job and a good life.

is for Health

Studies show that with each year of schooling your life expectancy increases. By going to school you are giving yourself a longer life.

is for Instructions

Everyday in school a teacher tells Grace what do to. She is learning how to follow directions.

I'm pretty sure we could teach her that. I still think she should be able to stay home.

is for Job

I have already talked about this a little, but when Grace becomes an adult and moves out of her parents house she will need money to pay for her own house, food, car, and many other things. You get money by working at a job. There are jobs that pay more and jobs that pay less. What job you get depends on where you go to college, how long you go and what you overall want to be.

is for Knowledge

You need a certain amount of knowledge to survive. Yes, Grace may need to learn different skills with different jobs, but the more you know the better!

is for Lesson

Grace needs to learn. Sometimes the best way to learn something is by making mistakes. When you make a mistake you learn your lesson and you are less likely to make that mistake again.

is for Money

In life to survive you need to have money. Money to buy your food, to pay for your clothes, and to have a roof over your head. When you attend school you are gaining materials needed for your future job.

Learning and trying out new things is so important to do! It can be from trying a new food or figuring out how to solve a math problem differently. Go out and explore!

is for Organized

In life staying organized is very important. Grace will try different organization tactics throughout her life. She will need to find which one works best for her. Color coding? Alphabetical?

is for Public

Now this may seem a little weird, but a person isn't born with social skills. You need to learn how to communicate with people and how to meet other peoples needs. Grace works with different people all the time. She has to try to understand how to work with them and how they can best work together.

is for Quiz

A quiz is something that teachers do to make sure that their students are learning and understanding what they are teaching them. Sometimes when there is a quiz the students can get a little stressed that they won't do well on it. Dealing with stress is something that Grace will need to figure out herself.
