The mother of the freedom movement, She was the woman to refuse to give up her seat to a white man. She was arrested for just sitting somewhere, so this was big and brought some attention.

African Americans stopped riding the bus after Rosa parks was arrested. This was a big deal because people were losing money, this made people mad. So this lead to some change and letting African Americans sit where ever they want to

Little Rock Nine

Nine African American students are sent to little rock, When the mayor was told this he got security to stand in front of the school so the students couldn't get it. So the president sent in the military to protect the students and let them in.
