The geneva accords were a series of diplomatic meetings that formally divided Vietnam into North and South.
I saw how Buddhist monks protested Diem's rule. They hated how they were being prosecuted for their religion, because Diem was a catholic.

I also witnessed the attack on U.S. ships in the gulf of tonkin; two were torpedoed, but they claimed that three sunk. The Communist Vietnamese were fighting a stealthy war.
Operation Rolling Thunder was a massive U.S. bombing campaign where many areas of North Vietnam were peppered with heavy bombs, including the capital.
During the Lunar New Year, an Asian holiday, the enemy agreed to cease fire. They used underhanded tactics to take advantage of this and break the trust that was issued by the cease fire. This incident was deemed the Tet Offensive.
