This book is #3 in the 'Sisters of Muffin Manor' series and is dedicated to my husband David, (the real life Captain Zzz) and both our whimsical, fun-loving families!

It's exactly one week before Halloween and sisters Tia, Holland, and Saylor are about to experience some seriously strange mysteries!
Tonight is the big masquerade party at the Muffin Manor in Mapletown. Everyone is coming out tonight dressed in their fanciest costumes to celebrate the season.
Little do they know what is about to take place on this mysterious evening, in the creepiest house in Mapletown!

Everyone is invited and some of the very interesting guests are: Mayor Morewalk, Captain Zzz, Sheriff Handlebar, Lois Rabbit, Chief Stapler, Lara the Belle, Jeana LaMoney and Nelson the Pirate.
The Sisters' cat Mini-Muffin has now grown into Mega-Muffin and he tends to hide whenever Captain Zzz is around. Other than that, everyone is sure to have a great time at the Manor tonight!

The sisters are almost done preparing the Manor for the big party with giant cobwebs, real and fake ghosts, spooky jack-o-lanterns, furry spiders, and lots of delicious treats. Once they've changed into their old-fashioned costumes from the 1800's, they'll be
ready for guests to arrive!

Did you hear someone whistling downstairs in the middle of the night?

No, but it smelled like something died upstairs and it was coming from Tia's room..

The sisters are excited about the games they have planned for their guests. One game is called "Escape the Blue Wing" where guests will be locked in a series of rooms and have to solve several mysteries with clues in order to get out.

Meanwhile, out in the pumpkin patch, the wild grapevines are up to no good again! The grapevines are creeping around making messes and breaking things. Mega-Muffin the Cat always gets blamed for messes, but no one listens to him because he's known for being whiny and meowing too much
for no reason.

Some of the guests have eaten a few treats and headed upstairs to begin one of the mystery games..

Downstairs, Mega-Muffin is keeping an eye on the treats as well as evil grapevines. He tried to warn the guests of their tricks, but no one listened to him!

Upstairs, some guests are playing the mystery escape game. Each guest will have to use their different skills to help the group unlock clues, solve riddles, and find the way to escape! Nurse Anne and Lara the Belle begin by looking for the first hidden object.

Downstairs, Holland is setting out the special cake that was made to look like the Muffin Manor and delicious frosted Halloween sugar cookies.
Saylor is checking all the candles in the house to make sure they haven't burned out, and Tia is on the hunt for more candy to refill all the cauldrons.

This room creeps me out. I feel like we're being watched

Back in the Blue Wing, Nelson the Pirate solved a riddle, Mayor Morewalk and Jeana LaMoney unscrambled a puzzle, and Chief Stapler located the clue that led them to the library where their next set of clues are.
If they ever want to get out of this part of the Manor, they'll have to think hard!
The group searches the library for an hour to find the final clue that will lead them to a hidden object in the maid's room, which unlocks the door to their freedom! If only they knew which book would tell them that the object in the maid's room is hidden in one of the drawers of the old linen cabinet!

Is that a real rat's skeleton?!

Meanwhile, the rest of the guests at the party are having fun playing charades, solving mysteries around the property, walking through the haunted pumpkin patch, and touring the super spooky tower..in the dark!

Something creepily odd is going on here, Lois.

Come on up here, Dea, there's iced coffee and no spiders!

Some other guests are getting impatient waiting for the group to figure out how to escape the Blue Wing, so some of them decide to go up the third and fourth stories of the haunted tower..which is pitch
black except for candlelight!

This place is freaky, Mrs. Morewalk! A bat just got stuck in my hair!

Slow down, Jodi! We don't want to fall down these spiral stairs!
I haven't seen Holland, Tia, and Saylor in hours!

Are people still trying to escape the Blue Wing?

A little later, Pa Cowboy, Captain Zzz, Sheriff Handlebar, and Lois Rabbit are playing games in the billiards room when they realize that something is wrong.

Where in the kolache is everyone?
