This book goes out to the great Professor, Dr. Paynter.

What does multimedia mean?
Multimedia is the presentation of material using both words and pictures.
The use of video, digital materials, and printed resources combined with in person instruction help to build a technology based learning environment that engages the students and help them to learn in more memorable ways.

What technologies are already in schools?
Multimodal learning is a major influence in schools today. Being able to combine words with visuals, text, audio and simulations intrigues the students and creates a vast number of ways to teach.
Schools today use digital projectors, document cameras, and projection apps with almost every lesson.

Next Generation Presentation Tools
Many next generation presentation tools have been in use in the classroom for a while now, but many are just now being incorporated.
PowerPoint is an all time favorite that is used daily within schools. This software allows you to create presentations that includes text, pictures, charts, audio, graphs and much more.
Animoto is another software that uses video clips, pictures, sounds and text to expand how info is presented.

Teachers also use Glogster to create digital posters to send out to the students and parents.
Digital screencasting is another type of presentation tool that lets students see the teachers computer screen to interact with the website or information being shown.
The last type of presentation tool that I am mentioning is Podcasts. This allows students to listen to an oral presentations anytime and anywhere. Students and teachers can even design their own.
