Okay guys lets get started. First lets look at this quadratic function. Is it in standard form ladies? ax^2+bx+c=0

Yes!

Then lets move on to the next step, rewrite the equation to ax^2+bx=-c

Now that we have it in ax^2+bx=-c form we add (b/2)^2 to each side which for this equation is 36 since 12/2 is 6 and 6^2 is 36

Since -30 and 36 are like terms on the right side of the equation, do we combine like terms?

Yes! Great observation, you will combine like terms when they are on the same side of the equation

Now we factor the Perfect Square Trinomial by taking the square root of (b/2)^2 and placing it into the quadratic function which would be (x+6)^2

And there is our combined terms, -30+36=6
