We dedicate this book to Jan and Antonina Zabinski for there heroic acts during the Holocaust.

During the early 1930's the Warsaw zoo was one of the biggest and most popular zoos in all of Europe. The director of the zoo was a man named Dr. Jan Zabinski.

Although Dr. Zabinski was a busy man he did not look the other way to the people who were in need. When the Warsaw Ghetto was created and all the Jew's were taken from their homes Dr. Zabinski did what he could to help his some of his Jewish friends. But as their situation got worse and worse he took some of them into his own home.
Jan, Antonia, and their son allowed Jews to hide in their house, in secret tunnels, and in empty cages in the zoo

Throughout the span of 3 years, they saved over 300 Jews.
