This book is dedicated to all the victims of the holocaust.

Throughout the hard times of the anti-semitic era, there were many helpful citizens.
Once upon a time, not so long ago- there was a world that was very unfair. Many people were against those of a different group.

They were excluded and separated from families once they were sent away to camps.

Many people were treated horribly, but especially the Jews.
During this time, there was a zoo by the name of Warsaw Zoo, located in Poland and owned by Jan & Antonina Zabinski.

They were very nice people and decided to help people that were being hurt by what was going on.
Jan would visit the camps their friends were in and help them by sometimes taking them out of the camps and ghettos and instead, hiding them in his zoo or house. Their son helped them watch over the Jews and help them too.

During what was called the Holocaust, these people were very helpful and saved many many lives, creating an impact on history while doing so.

Long story short, these people were very helpful and have made very heroic actions which benefited many in result.
Authors note: During the 1930's, Warsaw Zoo was one of the post popular zoos around, but when the holocaust begun- it was damaged in many areas and many animals were killed. The Zabinski's had many Jewish friends, and they were not about to let them suffer. Jan would visit the Warsaw ghetto and help as best as he could, saving many lives in the process. He snuck some into his house and offered them asylum at the zoo and his house. Because of both of their heroic actions, they were both entered into the Yad Vashem Righteous of the Nations.
