Complete Circuit

A circuit is a complete path around which electricity can flow. It must include a battery.

The light bulb went out because Josh took out the battery, so the complete circuit was interrupted.

Conductors are substances that an electric charge can pass through without difficulty. The best electrical conductors are metals.

I believe that copper is a good conductor of electricity.

A basic property of matter, electric charge is a quantity of electricity that is related to the balance of electrons and protons in an object.

An electrical circuit is a path or line through which an electrical current flows.

Drea's sixth grade class are creating electrical circuits this week to light a bulb.

Electrical current

Current is the rate at which an electric charge flows in a conductor. It is the number of electrons passing a given point in second.

Electrons flowing through a wire is an example of electric current.

Electrical insulators

Materials that don't conduct electricity well are called insulators. Examples of insulators are wood, glass, plastic and rubber.

When dry, polyamide is a good electrical insulator.

Incomplete Circuit

A circuit where the path has been interrupted or "opened" at some point so that current will not flow.

When Jared cut the cord to my phone charger the circuit became incomplete
