lSalsa music is a diverse and predominantly Caribbean rhythm that is popular in many Latino countries.However, the term has been used by Cuban and Puerto Rican immigrants in New York analogously to swing Salsa music always has a 4/4 meter, i.e., 4 beats per bar. The music is phrased in groups of two bars, i.e. 8 beats, for example by recurring rhythmic patterns, and the beginning of phrases in the song text and instruments.Salsa's roots can be traced back to the African ancestors that were brought to the Caribbean by the Spanish as slaves.Since the mid-1990s, African artists have also been very active through the super-group Africando, where African and New York musicians mix with rdo Lemvo, Ismael Lo and Selif Keita. Salsa is only one of many Afro-Cuban genres to have traveled back and influenced West African music.

Reggae is a music genre that began in Jamaica in the late 1960s. Most music from Jamaica comes from the reggae style.[1]The music has regular chops on the back beat (off-beat). These are called “skank”, and are played by a rhythm guitarist. The bass drum hits on the second and fourth beat of each measure (each bar). These are called the “drop”. Reggae bands also use a bass, a keyboard or organ, and horns.Reggae music is often used by Rastafarian groups. They are usually songs about religion, love and social problems. Bob Marley (1945-1981) was a famous reggae artist.Famous instruments in reggae music are drums, guitar, saxophone, trumpet and trombone.Reggae was started in 1960 but became famous in the 1970s.
