This is dedicated to all boys and girls of all race to read a realise you are welcome anywhere.

Today is Osmans first day at his new school. He is quite nervous. He is worried people will not like him because wherever he goes he looks different from others.

As Osman makes his way into the school he notices that none of the other kids are looking at him funny or pointing.
He feels less nervous and continues walking to where the year one classrooms are.

Once Osman makes it to his classroom, he walks in and goes to his teacher.

"Hello," his new teacher says, "I am Mrs Johnson, what's your name?"
"Hi, I'm Osman! I'm new and
I am starting at this school today."

"Welcome to my class! I'll introduce you to everyone else," Mrs Johnson said as she walked towards the front of the room, "everyone gather around, we have to meet our new classmate."

All of my new classmates gathered around and looked towards Mrs Johnson.
"Everyone this is Osman. He is new to this school and i think we should all welcome him with open arms. Lets say good morning to Osman." Mrs Johnson said enthusiastically to all of her students.

In unison all of my new classmates sang out a loud "Good morning Osman!" and waved at me. While I said good morning back and waved to them, I noticed that none of them were whispering or pointing at me. None of them laughed or giggled to each other while I introduced myself.
None of them cared that I was different from them. None of them cared that I had a different skin colour from them.

I'm just like them!
I was truly welcome in this new place. I did not need to worry that they would poke fun at me or make me feel different because even though I looked a little different from them, we really were all the same.
