Once there was a poor family with two kids
named Rachel and Jack. All they had to eat
for meals was canned spinach and soup that
they had to take outside and heat over a fire.
One day, Rachel got mad at Jack for stealing
her quarter that she had been paid for allow-
ance,and they both got in trouble.Their mom,
Sara Jones, sent them to their room with a can
of cold spinach and gave each of them a bowl of
barely warm chicken noodle soup. Jack had an

idea. He said," Rachel go shoot a hoop with
that spinach."Rachel who played basketball
until their dad died, got the idea. She
grabbed the can of spinach and hurtled
it towards the garbage can. They both
hoped that their mother wouldn't come in
there anytime soon, or else she would
see the spinach. They both grinned
wickedly as they looked at the greenish-
grayish blob that lay in their trash can.

Out of the corner of her eye, Rachel
saw a faint glimmer of gold coming
from under her bed. She knelt down
and peeked under the bed. She
glanced at her brother who was sitting
on his bed, looking at her. As she
reached out her hand, she felt something
hard. It was not a new feeling, it was a
familiar feeling. She pulled it out from

under the bed and realized what it was.
It was a small book with a purple cover,
yellow glitter around its edges, and a
star on the cover that seemed as if it
were shining just like a real star. The
two siblings were bored and had nothing
else to do so they began to read the book.
There was no clue of who the author of
the mysterious book was and maybe they

didn't want people to know who they
were. The book was called A Magical
Land. It was about two kids that got
stuck on a island with all sorts of
magical creatures. They started to feel
dizzy after a while reading the book,
and felt as if the book were a vacuum
that was trying to suck them up. It was a
very odd feeling and they wished and
wished it would go away.

It felt as if the whole world was
turning and turning. They both
looked at the book and,"Poof!",
they vanished. They opened their
eyes and they were amazed to see
they were in a place just like the
magical land the book described.
"Wow", they both said in awe as

they looked at all sorts of magical
creatures that walked past them
and stared at them. "Well there's
no need to be rude is there ?",said
a white horse with wings. " You are
a pegasus, aren't you. We didn't know
that pegasi existed." said the
siblings said in unison. The pegasus

told them that her name was
Crystal. She told them about the
creatures that had taken over their
wonderful land. "It used to be so
happy here.Will you please help me
save this land?" The children thought
about it and talked about what to do
and they finally agreed. They followed
Crystal to her house and ate and slept.

In the morning, Rachel asked Crystal
some questions. "Why are we dressed like
this? How did we get here? Crystal said, "
Those two questions you asked I simply
will not answer for you because you need
to find out the answers yourself. They
woke up Jack and set out to find the
mean creatures. It wasn't very hard to
find them. They were teasing a family of
mermaids. The mermaids pleaded for the

creatures to go away, but of course,
they wouldn't listen. Crystal finally
scared the creatures away but
unfortunately some of them went to
torment a large neighborhood of fairies.
As the three friends were walking to the
neighborhood of fairies, Rachel saw
something in the grass. It was a map! She
picked up the map and showed it to Crystal
and Jack. Crystal looked so happy. She said

it was a map to the monster's castle. We
would just follow the trail from the fairy
village to the castle and then we would get
rid of the monsters. But right now, they
needed to go help the fairies. When they
got there the monsters were gone and the
village was a wreck. The fairies were stuck
in an upside-down net and their gingerbread
and the gingerbread houses were being
burned by some of the dragon's babies.
