Baker was a good football player in High school, and led his team to a state championship when he was only a junior.

Unfortunately, even though Baker was really good, no colleges wanted to give him a scholarship because they thought he was too short.

Baker knew he was good, even if colleges didn’t, and he wanted to prove it.

One day, the head coach at Texas Tech, offered Baker a spot on the team, but it was a walk on spot.

This discouraged Baker, but he knew how good he was, so he accepted the offer and went to Texas Tech.

Baker was not expected to ever play at Texas tech, but he performed so well that he started every game for them, and was named freshman of the year!

Even after winning the award, Texas Tech still didn’t think Baker was tall enough to get a scholarship, so he decided to leave Texas Tech, and join Oklahoma as a walk on.

Baker had to sit out a year, but in that year he proved to the coaches at Oklahoma how talented he was, and they finally gave him a scholarship.

Baker was so happy!
