Setting

Philippines Islands, they were connected to Asia and land bridges. The Filipinos traveled there over the land bridges seeking food. Then the ice caps melted, and the land became surrounded by water. They were first colonized by the Spanish for years. When the Americans took over, they brough medicines, vaccines, built roads and established schools in the Philippines.

They created the "Pensionados" program in which most Filipinos who immigrated were mostly sons and daughters of wealthy Filipinos.

Besides the wealthy kids other Filipinos immigrated to the United States to be educated, and for better opportunities. Between them Alexa, a smart girl from a poor family in the Philippines. She also came in the "pensionados" program, but instead of being selected for being rich she was selected because she was clever and she puts efforts.
 

I want to study, so i can have better life opportunities, not only for me, but for my family. My dream is to become a lawyer.

I wanna be a nurse, so I can take care of my grandma who is sick, and other people who needs it.

Between the rich kids were Andre and Abby, they were both from wealthy families in the Philippines, they were also smart and they families send them to bring a better life to them. 

I want to become a teacher so i can teach properly my future kids, and the people in the Island.

Climax

Most guys from the "Pensionados" program besides all the hardships they were able to graduated from American colleges and brought their skills and knowledge back to the Philippines, but some stayed to follow better opportunities in the US. This include Andre, Alexa and Abby, they all graduated. Abby and Andre came back to the Philippines and Alexa stay, so she can later bring her family for a better life opportunity.
