Halifax is in the Province of Nova Scotia which is a peninsula attached to North America and has 5,490 km2 of land. Halifax is in the Atlantic time zone and is 1 hour ahead of Toronto. Halifax is known for its harborfront and its amazing boardwalk. Halifax also has a great history and was a big trading hub in the war of 1812.

1.The boardwalk is along the harborfront and where to enjoy some nice food in the restaurants. The Halifax boardwalk is one of the largest in the world. It is a 4.4 km walk with many restaurants and stores along it. The Boardwalk is located on lower Water Street and from city hall to the harborfront is a 4-minute walk and the directions are as follows:

2. The Halifax Commons is a big park next to a national historic site called Citadel Hill. It has lots of recreational activities. It has several baseball diamonds, tennis courts, a soccer field, a swimming pool, and a skate park. The park is Canada's oldest urban park. It is located at 5816 Cogswell street. It's a 13-minute bus and walk from city hall.

3. Point Pleasant Park is a big park on the tip of the south end of the city. The park is on the Atlantic Ocean shoreline. This park includes 39 km of trails, off-leash dog walking areas, public restrooms, and cycling. The park is located at 5530 Point Pleasant dr. It is a 26-minute bus and walk from city hall.
