The Guru is the teacher, who teaches the spiritual and religious knowledge. Guru can also be a personal teacher.

Siddhartha Gautama, according to legend, was a Hindu prince who renounced his position and wealth to seek enlightenment as a spiritual ascetic, attained his goal, and in preaching his path to others, founded Buddhism in India in the 6th-5th centuries BCE. He became awakened when he sat under a Bodhi tree and began practicing mindfulness of breath and entered the same state of concentration he experienced as a boy.

Called the first seal of the dharma, the law of impermanence indicates that all conditioned things have a beginning, middle, and end.

Jhana refers to a meditative state in which the yogi is profoundly still and in perfect concentration.

In the Buddhist tradition, karma refers to actions driven by intention—a deed done deliberately through body, speech, or mind—that lead to future consequences.
