can virtually dissect a frog. This gives students 

the opportunity to get familiar with the activity 

before actually dissecting a frog. On-line 

simulations are a great way for students to try 

something out before they have to do it in 

class.

Description: This is a video on the growth of 

the Nation. It is a 10 minute animated video 

that gets students familiar with the early 

growth of the United States. Online learning is 

a great way to incorporate technology in the 

classroom and to get students excited about 

learning.

Title: Quiz on the Gold Rush

Description: This is an online tool that allows 

students take take a quiz on the Gold Rush to 

see how much they know. Online quizzes are a 

way for students to test their knowledge and it 

also helps the students know where they are 

struggling.

Collaborative Projects

Title: The Civil War for Kids

Description: Collaborative projects are a way 

for a class to work together on one project. My 

example project is on a class that worked 

together to create a website on the Civil War. 

The students worked on the research and the 

teacher helped them put the project together.

Title: The Modern Dairy Farm

Description: Virtual tours are very useful 

because it allows students to see places or 

events that they might not be able to see in

grade level and any subject area.
