Education: How did the Sumerians Learn? Think about all social classes of people. Sumerian students attended school to learn how to read and write Sumerians also excelled in math and science. The priests were the highest ranked people just below the kings  The kings of summer believed that they have been chosen to rule. Slaves were the at the bottom and treated unfairly.

Technology: They invented one of the first languages on planet earth called Cuneiform, for communication purposes Sumerians also invented the wheel for an easier transportation of things/supplies. The sumerians also invented plows, and another smart idea was to use the ox to push the plows. This was made to help plant the seeds faster. They also made the sailboat a bit more durable. They made that change so  it could float a bit longer with no leaks because they needed a way to get fish in the middle of deep lakes and rivers. Some of these tools included knives, drills and tools which were similar to saws, while spears, bows, arrows and daggers were only used in war.

Natural Environment: The soil was very fertile so it was easy to plant .It was between two rivers so they can get water from these rivers to drink and plant. They had a dry season, which was very hard when they did not know how to preserve water They also had a flood season where everything would be flooded and the plants and crops might die.The weather god is called ZEPHYRUS and he would either bring rain or heat and sun

Their houses were made with mud, hence the color of their houses being brown

The social classes went all the way from king to slave

The sumerians created a number chart based on the number 60

One if the biggest achievements is the cuneiform, which is the sumerian language. zigurats are the temples that the gods lived in.

The main religion was polytheism the worship of multiply gods

Some of the gods they worshiped were Enlil the lord of air, Enki god of wisdom and inanna the goddess of love and war the sun and moon were embodied by the gods utu and Nanna

Each city or state had a designated god to be their protector

The sumerians believed that their gods had extremely powerful powers

The sumerians believed that there gods could bring harvests and floods and that they could bring illness or they can bring very good health the sumerians depended on pleasing their gods

Men had the political power and they made the laws while the women  stayed home and took care of the house and the children

Education was mainly for men but some higher classed women got education some educated women were priestesses in the temples of sumer

Sumer was not ruled by one ruler the city's all had king like rulers called ensis  

The sumerians  had a law system and a government system that the would  go by

The sumerians keeped order by writing

Arts: Their art was usually statues of their gods that were used for the temples.

They would sometimes sculpt their king in clay

The artists also made small things made out of ivory and rare woods

Most Sumerian art is based on their religion

Most art made in Sumer was made out of clay because they had a lot of it
