The Industrial Revolution Starts in Great Britian
The Industrial Revolution started in Great Britian in the late 1700's. It started in Great Britian because they had natural resources, experienced entrepreneurs, growing population, increasing world trade, and economic progress.
The spread of the Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution spread to the United States and other European countries, such as Belgium and Germany. It also spread to some Asian nations (Japan). They were forced to industrialize due to imperialistic threats against the country. The spread of the Industrial Revolution caused major political, cultural, and economic changes in the world.
The Cotton Gin
The cotton gin was made to increase the production of cotton. The cotton gin would take the seeds out of the cotton so that they could have more cotton to sell.

The Steam Engine
Originally, factories had to be built by sources of water so that the machines would have power. Then James Watt invented the Steam Engine so that factories could be built away from water resources. Before, the metals that the machines were made out of would rust very quickly because they used water as their power source, but with the Steam Engine, the metal didn't rust because it used coal and was made of iron.
The Steam Engine leads to change in transportation
The Steam Engine leads to the creation of the Steam Boat and the Locomotive. The change in transportation lead to trade occurring over longer distances. It also allowed travel to become easier.
