Chapter I
The First Japanese People
42,000 years ago, Japan was not an island, more like a peninsula.
Around the time, ancient people from Korea or near it, migrated from their place into Japan, since like I said Japan was not an island. They were able to walk to it.
But 14,000 years ago, the Land Bridge broke, leading people to be trapped on the island.
Chapter II
The Rise of Yamato
In the Bronze Age, Japan discovered rice, which became a big part of the Japanese economy.
It started making Small Kingdoms. Yamato was one of them and it grew rapidly.
Chapter III
Japanese Religions
The Japanese Emperor adopted Bhuddism as its official Religion, even though the people didn't want to at first.
It remained like that until around the year 500AD when he tried a different type of Bhuddism, Zen Bhudisim and because of that, he changed the Japanese alphabet. Then, he settled on a completely new religion, Shinto, which is still its dominant religion today.
Chapter IV
Japanese and Mongolian War
The Mongols were so brutal in their conquest, taking all of China, Russia and almost a whole continent.
In 1279, they were in the highest amount of territory they were ever in!
They wanted Japan to, but Japan was victorious.
Chapter V
The Split of Yamato
Around the late 1400s, Yamato's Goverment collapsed, and the whole country split into a lot of small Shogunates (Japanese Kingdoms).
For a while, it was a battle on who will take over the island. Tokugawa took over most of the country, the rest of it was taken by the Kingdoms of Date and Maeda.
