This story is about a woman named ELIZABETH KIZITO from Uganda. Elizabeth was born in a very big family of 36 children, her father ran a successful bread making company back home. She attended a boarding school where she later learned how to bake cakes and cookies from a nun. Elizabeth flew to America to pursue the American dream. Regardless the struggles that she went through, she never gave up her hope and faith in God. Elizabeth Kizito is now known as "The Cookie Lady" in Louisville. She is also the senior lecturer at Uganda Christian University.

It all started when Elizabeth Kizito was just a regular teenager in Uganda. She had long dreamed to study and live in America due to her favorite American TV show, Bonanza.
Her American teacher friend helped her to enroll in Eastern New Mexico University. She flew to America by the age of 17 and that was the first time she rode an airplane. She was excited and scared at the same time.

Good luck, we wish you the best!
Thank you, Mum & Dad!
Years have passed, Elizabeth made several unwise decisions. Somehow she ended up drunk, divorced and miserable with no stable job to support her and her son. She was so close to giving up her American dream.
One day, her son asked her to bake some cookies. "These are the best cookies in the world" he said. It was like a light bulb moment. Maybe she should sell some cookies.

Mom, your cookies are the BEST!
Hmm... maybe, I should sell them...
Elizabeth started selling cookies on the streets, in front of any shops, everywhere she could think of.
She always took her son with her throughout the whole time. People often judged her being irresponsible to bring a little kid to work.
Later on, a police officer scolded her for not having a license to sell food. She broke down crying and prayed to God because she did not know how to survive this life anymore.

This is a warning!
No license means you can not sell food!!
Okay, Sorry, Officer...
