High school; it's a time for self-discovery, friendships, fun, school activities, and preparation for college. High school is also the time that I had some of the best, and worst teachers in my life. I will forever remember them, and use what I learned to become the teacher I am today.

At Tracy High School, I had the same English teacher for two years. This teacher was motivating, and dedicated to her students. If I did not understand the material, she would stay after school with us until we understood. She pushed me to new heights, and worked hard to make us better writers. She gave great feedback and offered new ways to learn. She even let us act out an entire novel as a class. It was such a fun way to read and analyze the material, and I will forever be grateful to her.

Another memorable teacher I had was my Geography teacher. When I found out I had to take Geography for the Agricultural Science Academy, I was afraid. I thought Geography consisted of memorizing maps and places, and I assumed it would be boring. This teacher made Geography exciting and interesting. My Geography teacher was engaging, and excited about teaching, and therefore made us all want to learn along with them.

Although I had some great teachers, I also had some teachers that showed me what not to do. One teacher I had simply did not care. We did mostly word searches and crossword puzzles, and he even let us paint out nails in class. I recall many times where I would ask to leave with a group of friends, to go get burritos from the restaurant across the street, and he'd let us. There was no classroom management whatsoever. It always felt very chaotic in class, and it was not an environment suitable for learning.
