Hassan and the 5 Pillars of Islam

Hassan lives here!

Today is a Friday, and that is when my family and I go to the mosque to pray Zuhr, also known as the noon prayer! We will also be listening to a lecture called the Khutbah! I will also bring my Qur'an to read...

The Quran is a holy book that contains the word of God. The Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad by the angel Gabriel.

Prophet Muhammad was the best man that ever lived. He was the most honest and compassionate person to ever exist. He was the last prophet.

Prophet Muhammad also had a cat just like me!

This weekend at Sunday school we learned about the Five Pillars of Islam. They are Shahadah, Salat, Sawm, Zakat, and Hajj.

Shahada in Arabic is “Profession of Faith”. This means that “There is no God but God, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God."

It is pronounced like: Ash hadoo allah e laha illal lahoo wa ash hadoo an na muhammadar ra soo llalah
Salat means “Prayer” in Arabic. This pillar means that we must pray towards Mecca five times a day. I pray to Allah because he requires us to and to be thankful for everything we are given.
I’ve just started learning how to pray, so I have to admit that I’m a bit forgetful!
