After being dispersed over the world for very many years, Jewish people began to appease the idea of reconvening into their homeland, Palestine. This idea of unity was entertained by many Jews; however, Theodore Herzl put the idea into political action. Theodore Herzl, who was an Austrian journalist, urged for Palestine to be for Jewish people under the law. His proposal was not accepted by the Ottoman Empire, thus he asked Great Britain, which readily aided the Jewish movement.

Great Britain offered land in Uganda; however,  the Jews wanted to gain Palestine. Thus, they decline Britain’s offer. After Herzl’s death, the Jewish movement slowed, due to the Jews wanting Palestine being a minority. Yet, after the Russian Revolution failed, and much oppression, Jewish immigration increased considerably to a Palestine. When WW1 exploded, Zionism reestablished its prevalence.  

With the Zionism movement sparking, Zionists managed to gain the Balfour Declaration from Britain. This declaration legally bound Britain to being  a supporter of the Zionist movement to gain Palestine. Jewish people began to rebuild areas in Palestine, but they were not granted autonomy, and were still the minority in Palestine. Yet, over the span of the Holocaust, the Jewish population strikingly expanded. 

With the Jewish population expanding at a rapid rate, Arabs feared thats their state would be overrun. Arab resistance echoed through the country, especially heard by Britain. In order to appease the Arabs, Britain restricted Jewish immigration. However, this excited a perception of betrayal by the Zionists. Rebellions and egregious fights broke out on both sides. Eventually, Britain submitted a proposal to the United Nations.
