Chemistry is the study of matter and the changes
that take place with that matter. Matter makes up
everything in the universe and is the name that
scientists have given to everything you can touch, or
see, or feel, or smell.

"cloud"!

Atoms are tiny parts that make up everything. There
are many models of the atom, but Schrodinger's is the
most recent.

Atoms are made up of subatomic particles: protons,
neutrons, and electrons.
Protons are positively charged particles.
Neutrons are neutrally charged particles.
Electrons are negatively charged particles.
Protons and neutrons are the nucleus, or center, of
the atom, electrons surround the nucleus in a "cloud".

element symbol is the atomic number, the number below is
the atomic mass. The elements on the right side are less likely
to give up electrons when bonded.

Chemical bonding is the joining of atoms to form
compounds. When chemical bonds form, electrons
can be given, taken, or shared between the atoms.

One compound is Hydroxic Acid. Hydroxic Acid
is also known as water. The formula for water
is H₂O. This means that there is two Hydrogen
atoms and one Oxygen.

There are five types of chemical reactions:
Synthesis = Chemical A +Chemical B > Chemical AB
Decomposition = Chemical AB > Chemical A + Chemical B
Single Replacement = Chemical AB + Chemical C > Chemical CB +
Chemical A
Double Replacement = Chemical AB + Chemical CD > Chemical AD +
Chemical CB
Combustion = Carbon&Hydrogen + Oxygen > Carbon Dioxide + Water

In chemistry, a mole is a unit of
measurement. 1 mole = 6.02X10²³
(602,000,000,000,000,000,000,000)
representative particles, which are
elements or atoms.
