A long long time ago after the french and Indian War, the British wanted the Americans to give them money back for all the damage.
So the Stamp Act was made by the British and was created to give money to British troops in the colonies. It was a tax which is an amount of money to give to very important people, on printed people objects like newspapers, magazines, and more. The people were very mad about this because they had no say in this act. The British people took away this stamp act and then the American War had already begun.
The Stamp Act
One day in 1770 nine British soldiers started shooting people in Boston, Massachusetts. It started when 50 citizens(people that lived there) attacked a British guard. The guard called in soldiers to help him and that is when it all started. The colonists, the people who lived in Boston, only had snowballs, sticks, and stones. They killed five people and six were hurt. The eight British soldiers were arrested the next morning which made the people happy in the city. This massacre(fight) helped bring all the colonies together against Britain.
The Boston Massacre
Three years later a king, who was king George the third made tea cost a lot more money. To show the king they were mad, a group of 70 men got on three British ships at the Boston Harbor and threw tea boxes into the sea. They were dressed up as Indians as a costume. It was a riot(fight) against the tea act which was passed by the British and gave a company, called the East-Indiana company, a tea sale in the colonies. The king then closed the dock and made them pay for the tea.

After the Boston Tea party the British people passed a group of laws called the impossible acts(intolerable acts). These rules closed the Boston dock so no objects could be brought to them. It was closed until they payed for the tea they destroyed. The people only became more mad at the British. There were five different rules which were that the ruler of the colony could move trials to other colonies, the ruler of the colony can stop all town meetings, closed the dock, soldiers could go in houses and empty buildings, and allowed Catholics in Canada to preach to any God.
The Impossible Acts (Intolerable)
One warm day in September members from 12 different colonies all met together in a meeting to talk about the impossible acts(intolerable acts). They decided to take away British goods and not allow the bringing of American goods to the British if they did not take away the impossible acts. To show them that the members were actually going to do this they called for back up to help them show there anger (the second continental congress). So they ended up doing this and voted to create the continental (forming of a) army and get ready for battle.
The First Continental Congress
One evening of April 18,1775, the British leader of Massachusetts sent several hundred soldiers to take over the peoples military stores in Concord. The Patriot settlers(who live there) found out about this and decided not to let the British do this. Local military men got together at Lexington to stop the British. When the British came they started fighting. The British lost and had to remove from Boston.
