THE MAGNA CARTA
The Mayflower Compact- 1620
The Beginning- A group of pilgrims all boarded the ship named the Mayflower that was making its way to America from England for more religious freedom, mainly from the Church of England. They planned to land in the colony of Virginia but because of bad weather, they had to change their route and instead went to Cape Cod in Massachusetts. They named their new location Plymouth.

The Middle- Since these pilgrims were by themselves with no rulers or leaders, they were scared. Chaos leads to anarchy which is obviously not good. To make everyone happy, the pilgrims wrote the Mayflower Compact. It basically states that they are loyal to the King of England (King John) even though they are no longer in England, meaning they will follow the rules of the king.

YES
Mayflower Compact
The End- The Mayflower Compact was a great early example of democracy. It stayed active until 1691 when Plymouth Colony became part of the Massachusetts Bay Colony.

Plymouth Colony
Massachusetts Bay Colony
In the constitution, we see a little bit of the Magna Carta. The Magna Carta is "echoed" into the constitution by stating that everyone, including leaders, must obey the law no matter what. Without the Magna Carta, we may not have the rights we have today.
In the constitution, we also see the Mayflower Compact. These pilgrims wrote the compact so that anarchy would not happen. If anarchy would've happened in their colony, everything would've gone downhill. They gave up their right to do whatever they wanted in order to get protection. We see this in the constitution as a "social contract" which is giving up some rights in order to be protected by the laws.
