In 1215 the Magna Carta 

documented important rights to 

noblemen and freemen those not 

bound to master

In 1607 this was the first permanent 

settlement in honor of king James

In 1619 this became known as the 

first representative assembly in the 

American Colonies 

In 1620 this was an agreement that 

was signed and vowed to obey laws 

agreed upon for the good of the 

colony

This is democratic they vote and 

elect representatives in our town 

meetings, bible/church is very 

important

In this region if you owned land 

you could vote religion was not 

that important and the schools 

education was private.

If you owned land you could vote, 

mostly farm is what they did there 

religion acts was 0 and they didn't 

have school.

decided which nations would

in 1763 the treaty of paris required 

France & Spain to officially give.

The reason for this being issued is 

because uprising made the British 

government to see that defending 

Western lands would be costly.

This started taxing on sugar, molasses 

& any other type of product that was 

shipped to the colonies

This law was a cost saving 

measure that required the 

colonies to quarter.

This was a law passed in 1765 

which meant you had to carry an 

official stamp on anything that 

you carried with you.

This was a law created in 1767 to 

find a way to raise revenue int he 

colonies.

This was created in 1770 and this is 

what they called the shooting because 

the attucks gave their lives for 

freedom.

This was started when New York 

City & Philadelphia blocked tea 

ships from landing.

This was a law that punished the 

Massachusetts colony & to serve 

warning.

This was the first battle of the 

Revolutionary War.

This was a final plan that eventually 

arrived.

This was presented for adoption to the 

continental congress.

This was the turning 

point of the 

revolutionary war.

This is when we officially won our 

independence.

This event ended the revolutionary war.

The northwest ordinance was an 

act of the Congress of 

Confederation to the United states.

To have freedom of speech,

freedom of press,

freedom of religion,

freedom of petition,

and freedom of assembly!

A well regulated miilitia 

being necessary to the 

security of a free state,the 

right of the people   to keep 

and bear arm, shall not be 

infringed.

No soldier shall in time of 

peace be quartered in any 

house without the consent of 

the owner.

the right of the people to be secure 

in there. persons, houses,papers, 

and effects against unreasonable 

searches and seizures shall not be 

violated and no warrants shall issue

No person shall be held to answer 

for a capital or otherwise infamous 

crime unless on a presentment or 

indictment of a grand jury.

in a criminal prosecution the 

accused shall enjoy the right 

to a speedy and public trial.

Where the value in 

controversy shall 

exceed $20 dollars

excessive bail shall not be 

required nor excessive 

fines imposed.

certain rights shall not be 

construed to deny or 

disparage others retained by 

the people.

united states by the constitution 

nor prohibited by it to the states 

respectively or to the people.
